Meet Our Massage Therapists at Thrive Wellness Chiropractic

Andrew O’Brien, Massage Therapist

I’ve been a keen rugby union player since the age of 15, and over the years, I’ve had my fair share of injuries, life in the front row guarantees plenty of time on the treatment table! During a rugby tour to America in 2002, I experienced my first sports massage and was amazed by the results. The improvement was so immediate that I knew I wanted to dedicate my career to helping others experience the same benefits.

Before joining the team at the Thrive Wellness Chiropractic Oldham, I was a member for more than ten years — a true testament to how much I believe in what we do here.

I offer a full range of massage treatments, from relaxing Swedish and Indian Head massages to Pregnancy, Deep Tissue, and Sports Massage. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or simply in need of relaxation, every session is tailored to your needs.

Massage benefits everyone, regardless of age, gender, or fitness level and complements both chiropractic and physiotherapy care perfectly. My goal is always to help people move better, feel better, and live pain-free.

Wiola Ramsey-Scott, Massage Therapist

My journey into massage therapy began through personal experience. Years of gymnastics training and backpacking across the mountains of my home country, Poland, as well as in the USA and here in the UK, left me with recurring back pain that at times became overwhelming. Experiencing the power of healing touch during my own recovery inspired me to dedicate my career to helping others move freely and live without pain.

Through massage, I aim to restore balance in both body and mind, easing tension, improving mobility, and promoting deep relaxation and overall well-being. My approach is holistic, combining knowledge of the body with intuitive touch to support each person’s individual healing journey. Whether it’s deep tissue work to relieve chronic pain or a gentle, restorative treatment to encourage calm and recovery, every session is tailored to the needs of the person in front of me.

I truly believe our bodies are remarkable and capable of incredible things when cared for properly. Massage is not just about easing muscles; it’s about nurturing the whole self, helping the body to heal, strengthen, and thrive.

Emmanuel Mbu, Rehabilitation Specialist

My journey into sports therapy began in 2019 after a sprint training injury sparked my curiosity about recovery, movement, and how the body adapts through exercise. That setback became a turning point, inspiring me to help others overcome pain and return to doing what they love.

I went on to study Sports Therapy at the University of Wolverhampton, where I gained hands-on experience working with the university’s first teams through a strength and conditioning placement. Since then, I’ve worked with a wide range of clients, from semi-professional footballers to professional rugby and judo athletes.

As both a sprinter and a therapist, I’m passionate about bridging the gap between rehabilitation, exercise, and strength training , helping people of all backgrounds move better, feel stronger, and perform at their best. Working at Thrive Wellness Chiropractic allows me to combine my expertise in movement and recovery with a holistic, team-based approach to long-term health and wellbeing.
